Mumbai, April 23 (NationPress) Actress Sonali Kulkarni discussed her journey while working on her inaugural audiobook, 'His Majesty's Tiger', in an exclusive interview with IANS.

When inquired about her preparation for the role of Rani Sukanya in the audiobook, where she had to express all emotions solely through her voice, Sonali explained, "This is a medium where you don't have any artificial accessory to prove that you are playing a queen. I didn't have makeup or costumes, nor did I have sets to assist in portraying this character. It was the sheer command in my voice that mattered, and Rani Sukanya embodies very human emotions and grace—she's not blinded by her royal status."

Highlighting the intricacies of her character, she shared, "I truly appreciated how Rani Sukanya navigates her roles as a mother, queen, citizen, and relative. She is deeply connected to her family, caring towards her son, a supportive boss, and a proud queen, yet she experiences profound pain. Therefore, it was crucial for our team to effectively convey all these layers, as we often assume a strong voice suffices—it's not just about that. A leader is human too. Rani Sukanya possesses substantial human attributes, and without any external aids to convince the audience of my role as the queen, I am grateful for my talented co-voice actors who portrayed their roles excellently. I had to keep in mind that after experiencing all these emotions, she also had to manage her kingdom."

"We endeavored to embody her strength, and I appreciate that my directors allowed her to be unafraid of vulnerability. We often hear about women who became Prime Ministers, Presidents, or even traveled to the Moon, yet the challenges they face are depicted profoundly in the series, and it resonates with me deeply." Sonali concluded.
