Chennai, April 12 (NationPress) Prominent figures from the Indian film industry, including celebrated South Indian actors Jr NTR, Mohan Babu, and Vikram Prabhu, along with Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty, gathered to honor the legendary singer Asha Bhonsle, who sadly passed away at the age of 93 in Mumbai on Sunday.

The news of her passing cast a shadow over the film community, prompting heartfelt condolences from numerous celebrities.

Telugu superstar Jr NTR was quick to share his sorrow on X, stating, "I am deeply saddened by the news of Asha Bhosle ji’s departure. Her enchanting voice has been the soul of Indian cinema for decades, touching the hearts of millions. She leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished for generations. My deepest sympathies to her family. Om Shanti."

Veteran actor and producer Mohan Babu also expressed his respect on X, writing, "With Asha Bhosle garu’s passing, we witness the end of an era. Her voice was more than music; it was emotion that accompanied us through various life stages. Few artists have connected with hearts across generations as she did. Though gone, her voice will remain timeless. My heartfelt condolences to her family."

Vishnu Manchu, Mohan Babu's son, shared, "We didn’t merely listen to Asha Bhosle garu; we lived her songs. An irreplaceable voice from an irreplaceable era. This loss is profound. I pray for strength for her family."

Tamil actor Vikram Prabhu, grandson of iconic actor Sivaji Ganesan, also paid tribute on X. He remembered Asha Bhonsle’s frequent visits to his grandfather's house in Chennai, where she considered him her elder brother.

Vikram Prabhu wrote, "A legend departs #AshaBhosle ji (💔). She was a delight to converse with, always offering sweet words of wisdom. She was family. My condolences to Anand Bhosle ji and the family during this tough time. Her voice will forever echo in our hearts."

Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty shared his tribute as well, stating, "#AshaBhosle Every syllable was laden with memory, and each phrase was a gateway to emotion. This day does not signify the end of an era but reminds us that her legacy will persist. #RIPAshaBhosle thaai. Processing this loss is challenging!"

Asha Bhonsle's son, Anand Bhosle, announced that those wishing to pay their respects could do so at her residence in Lower Parel, Mumbai, at 11 am.

He told the media, "My mother passed away today. People wishing to pay their last respects can do so at 11:00 am tomorrow at Casa Grande, Lower Parel, where she resided. Her final rites will be held at 4 pm tomorrow at Shivaji Park."

Interestingly, her elder sister, Lata Mangeshkar, a Bharat Ratna awardee, was also cremated at Shivaji Park in 2022.
