Los Angeles, Jan 27 (NationPress) Filmmaker Steven Spielberg felt a strong desire to embrace fatherhood after collaborating with Drew Barrymore. The 78-year-old director, who shares Max, 39, with Amy Irving, along with Theo, 36, Sasha, 34, Sawyer, 32, Mikaela, 28, and Destry with his wife Kate Capshaw, directed Drew, 49, in the iconic 1982 film 'E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial'.

During a discussion at the TCM Classic Film Festival in New York City, Drew expressed, "For me, 'E.T.' is the film I am most proud of. It transformed my life. There's no doubt about that. My life revolves around how one person believed in me, and that is the legacy I strive to honor every day.”

In response, Steven remarked, "It also transformed my life. Before that moment in 1981 and 1982, I was solely focused on making films. I was passionate about storytelling, but working on 'E.T.' ignited my desire to become a father for the first time. I had never contemplated that until 'E.T.'.”

According to ‘Female First UK’, when Drew, known for her role in 'Never Been Kissed', inquired if her presence on set had spoiled his perception of fatherhood, he assured her that it was "quite the opposite".

Drew humorously responded, "Thank goodness, my job is complete.” Steven also mentioned that all of his children have seen the beloved film, although he has yet to show it to all of his grandchildren as they are "still too young".

He stated, "I have seven children and six grandchildren. I have shared the film with all my children and a couple of my grandchildren. Some are still too young, as I worry they might be scared by 'E.T.', and I want to prepare them before they encounter any surprises in the film.”
