Mumbai, March 31 (NationPress) Singer Subhi has expressed that her latest composition, ‘Tehtul E Ishq,’ is incredibly meaningful to her.
The gifted artist discussed her personal connection to the track, noting it represents a pivotal moment in her musical path. The song is distinguished not just by its emotional resonance, but also by its rich incorporation of Urdu, a language Subhi has not previously explored in her music.
Subhi shared with IANS, “Tehtul E Ishq is immensely important to me as it’s the first song where I’ve extensively written in Urdu. The song is deeply infused with Urdu, and the title, ‘Tehtul E Ishq,’ is my original creation. Here, ‘Tehtul’ signifies flow, while ‘Tehtul E Ishq’ translates to the flow of love. This title encapsulates the feeling of being entirely enveloped by love, where your beloved defines love for you.”
“This song is particularly significant for me as it marks my first time lending my voice to melodies inspired by folk and Qawwali, styles I have not tackled before, thus making it special both as a vocalist and a songwriter,” she added.
On her collaboration with Sikander Khan, Subhi remarked, “Working with Sikandar was a delightful experience. He’s a wonderful vocalist, humble and a genuinely lovely person. Upon hearing ‘Tehtul E Ishq’, he instantly connected with the song and agreed to collaborate, which is an honor for me. His voice brings a vibrant essence to the track, significantly enhancing it.”
Subhi also shared her memorable experience filming the music video in Jodhpur. She described the opportunity as unique, allowing her to connect with her music on a profound level. “We shot the music video in Jodhpur, and it was an incredible experience,” she recounted.
Along with the team in Jodhpur, they were accompanied by a full ensemble of musicians, including a dholak player, creating an atmosphere brimming with energy and creativity. Subhi fondly reminisces about the dynamic synergy as they “vibed and jammed to the song.”
‘Tehtul E Ishq’ follows Subhi’s successful collaboration with global stars DJ Khaled and Cardi B on the hit track ‘Higher Love.’ For this new single, Subhi has joined forces with Rajasthani folk artist Sikander Khan.
