Did Aarti Ravi's Mother Sujatha Vijayakumar Refute Actor Ravi Mohan's Allegations?

Chennai, May 17 (NationPress) Producer Sujatha Vijayakumar, the mother of Aarti Ravi and mother-in-law to actor Ravi Mohan, has made a public statement addressing and denying the accusations made against her by actor Ravi Mohan concerning the alleged misuse of his signature for financial guarantees.

In her statement, she remarked, "For 25 years as a producer, I've seldom engaged with the media, except during film launches. However, I find myself compelled to address these serious claims against me for the first time today."

She mentioned that for some time, she has been labeled as a "tormentor, family destroyer, gold digger, and property exploiter." Sujatha added, "I wanted to respond earlier, but I opted for silence out of self-respect and concern for my family’s reputation. Unfortunately, this silence has been misinterpreted as manipulation, prompting me to speak out to protect my family’s peace."

Detailing her career trajectory, Sujatha explained, "I launched my production journey in 2007 with the film Veerappu, featuring Sundar C in the lead role, which was financially successful. I transitioned to television production until 2017, and it was Mr. Jayam Ravi who inspired my return to cinema with Adangamaru. I approached this project with the intention of keeping family and professional life distinct for the sake of harmony. Although the film received positive feedback, it did not perform well financially. Nonetheless, Mr. Jayam Ravi encouraged me to produce more films for him, which I gladly did."

She pointed out the traditional practices in the film industry, stating that producers often bow to the camera on the first shooting day and humble themselves before financiers post-release, emphasizing that she is no different.

"In the three films I produced featuring Mr. Jayam Ravi—Adangamaru, Bhoomi, and Siren—I borrowed nearly 100 crores from investors. A quarter of that was earmarked for his salary and taxes, with all financial dealings properly documented," she noted.

Addressing one of Ravi Mohan's accusations, Sujatha clarified, "Mr. Jayam Ravi claims I used his name as collateral for financial transactions. I unequivocally state that I would never misuse his name, especially as my son-in-law. I made numerous sacrifices to ensure his name remained untarnished, even signing various documents without full knowledge of their content to shield him from any burden."

"For over a year, I've earnestly tried to reach out to Mr. Jayam Ravi—not as a producer, but as a mother and grandmother—hoping to mend family ties. My last message to him was related to professional matters, aiming to pave the way for a personal dialogue. It was never intended as a financial manipulation, as he has claimed," she emphasized.

"If I ever used his signature for even a single rupee, I challenge anyone making that assertion to present the evidence. This is my genuine appeal," she stated.

Concluding her statement, Sujatha expressed, "Mr. Jayam Ravi is like a son to me. We have cherished him as a hero. However, spreading false claims to gain sympathy only tarnishes the reputation he has worked hard to build. We wish for him to always remain our hero."

Directly addressing Ravi Mohan, she said, "You have referred to me as 'Mother' for years. As your mother-in-law, my sole desire is to see my daughter and grandchildren thrive in a joyful, united home. No mother can endure witnessing her daughter suffer from familial strife, and I am experiencing that anguish right now."

"To the media, I request: please refrain from branding me as a tormentor or a family disruptor. I am struggling to cope with these accusations during this challenging period in my life," she concluded.
