Mumbai, June 18 (NationPress) Actress Surveen Chawla has disclosed insights regarding her character in 'Criminal Justice Season 4', identifying Anju Nagpal as the "emotional core" of the series.
Chawla described Anju as outwardly calm and collected while harboring intense emotions inside, presenting a unique challenge and depth in her portrayal. In a recent conversation with IANS, she discussed her preparation methods and what captivated her about the gripping storyline.
Reflecting on Anju in 'Criminal Justice 4', Surveen mentioned, “For me, Anju Nagpal is the emotional epicenter of the show. Although she remains calm and composed, she is navigating a tumultuous storm within, keeping her feelings hidden.”
“The complexity of the role truly drew me in, along with the incredible team involved, featuring talented actors like Pankaj ji, Zeeshan, Shweta, Mitaji, Barkha, and others, including Ira, who plays my daughter. The ensemble cast is vital. Working with Rohan has been a long-standing desire of mine, and when the opportunity arose, I was eager to embrace it. The collaboration with the Applause and Hotstar teams felt like a well-crafted recipe, and I approach every project from that perspective,” added the 'Hate Story 2' actress.
Surveen further elucidated that while a script may appear robust and promising, the real essence of a project hinges on the team behind it. She underscored that even the best narratives can falter without a dedicated and skilled cast and crew to bring them to life. For her, a reliable team is a pivotal factor in deciding whether to accept a project.
Headlined by Pankaj Tripathi, the show also featured Shweta Basu Prasad. Directed by Rohan Sippy, 'Criminal Justice Season 4' is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
In contrast, in 'Rana Naidu Season 2', Surveen Chawla returned as Naina, but with a new outlook. “She’s evolved,” the actress noted, explaining that her character is now demanding accountability and taking charge. “Naina is no longer a passive observer; she’s a woman seeking answers—and she’s unafraid to pursue them.”
'Rana Naidu' season 2 also included Rana Daggubati, Arjun Rampal, Kriti Kharbanda, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, and Ashish Vidyarthi, and it streamed on Netflix starting June 13.
