New Delhi, Jan 27 (NationPress) Suvinder Vicky, recognized as one of the standout talents from the inaugural season of the crime thriller series Kohrra, will not reprise his role in the upcoming second season. As the much-anticipated new chapter prepares for release, creator Sudip Sharma has revealed the reasons behind this decision, describing it as a “challenging choice.”

Reflecting on Vicky's contribution, Sudip shared with IANS: “It was a hard decision. It was very difficult for us to make this decision because the performance was great. The character was very close to me personally.”

He continued: “You spend so much time with someone, and a friendship develops. You want to relive that experience.”

Sudip elaborated that “numerous factors”“We wanted to take it back. But the story of that character concluded. I didn’t have any other path to extend that character’s journey into the next season. I discussed this extensively with Gunjit Chopra (co-creator) because it was a significant choice to make.”

He explained, “All his emotional arcs were resolved, and his personal storyline was also fulfilling. It felt like a natural conclusion. Therefore, there was no feasible way to include that character in the series.”

Sudip concluded, “Rather than reiterating the same narrative, it would be more beneficial to introduce a new character and present the story in an innovative manner. The show’s success transcends all of us, so we must prioritize what is best for it.”

The new season of Kohrra features Barun Sobti and Mona Singh and is set to premiere on February 11 on Netflix. Created and penned by Gunjit Chopra, Diggi Sisodia, and Sudip Sharma, Season 2 introduces a new case intertwined with a fresh pairing, once again set against the backdrop of Punjab’s desolate, wintry landscape where silence often speaks louder than words.

A collaboration between Film Squad Productions and Act Three, with production by Saurabh Malhotra, Sudip Sharma, Manuj Mittra, and Tina Tharwani, Season 2 also signifies a vital creative advancement for the series.
