Mumbai, April 13 (NationPress) In a compassionate move to alleviate the oppressive summer heat, actress Taapsee Pannu reached out to families residing in slum areas by providing fans and water coolers.

Moved by the experience, she characterized the initiative as something that “touched her profoundly,” underlining her dedication to supporting the community. With temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, Taapsee participated in a dedicated sewa initiative focused on delivering relief to families in economically disadvantaged and slum areas—places where even the most basic comforts like cooling devices are often unattainable.

Discussing her involvement, the actress expressed, “We often take basic comforts like a fan or a cooler for granted, but for countless individuals, especially in this scorching heat, even a slight breeze can feel like a blessing. Being part of this initiative moved me deeply. It’s not solely about giving—it’s about standing with people, understanding their struggles, and doing what little we can to alleviate it.”

Harteerath Singh, Director of the Hemkunt Foundation, shared, “When temperatures exceed 40 degrees, it becomes nearly unbearable to reside in slum areas where there’s minimal ventilation or shade. People endure in silence without a fan or cooler to help them cope throughout the day. That’s what inspired us to launch this initiative—to provide some comfort, some relief, and convey the message that they are not alone. It’s about restoring dignity and humanity in the smallest ways.”

On her professional journey, Taapsee has wrapped up filming for her forthcoming movie “Gandhari” and mentioned that she invested her heart and soul into the project.

She shared behind-the-scenes glimpses from the sets, along with an image featuring co-actors Ishwak Singh, writer Kanika Dhillon, and director Devashish Makhija.

For her caption, she remarked, “If there is a NOS mode for the human body, I experienced it in this film. If there is something called running on the fuel of grit and determination, I saw it in this film. If there is something known as a unified goal of “make it happen,” I felt it in this film (sic).”

“Gandhari” signifies the sixth collaboration between Kanika Dhillon and Taapsee Pannu. The pair has previously delivered a series of hits together, including “Manmarziyaan,” “Haseen Dilruba,” and “Phir Aayi Hasseen Dilruba,” among others.
