Taapsee Pannu Kicks Off Filming for Action-Thriller ‘Gandhari’

Mumbai, Dec 18 (NationPress) Actress Taapsee Pannu has officially started filming her upcoming thriller ‘Gandhari’, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Devashish Makhija, known for ‘Joram’.
The actress has shared some intriguing photos on Instagram from the first day of her shoot, cleverly avoiding showing her face. In all the pictures, her back is turned to the camera, showcasing her in a flowing skirt paired with a vibrant red shirt, and her hair styled with ribbons.
Taapsee posted these images with the caption, "Dear God, grant my request so that I may never deviate from doing good deeds. That, I shall have no fear of the enemy when I go into battle and with determination I will be victorious. That, I may teach my mind to only sing your praises. And when the time comes, I should die fighting heroically on the field of battle ||231|| Let the war begin! Gandhari."
‘Gandhari’ promises an engaging narrative filled with unwavering resolve and significant personal stakes, all set against a backdrop of thrilling mystery and high-octane action. Viewers can expect to see Taapsee Pannu portraying a determined mother on a mission,” as per the plot description from streaming giant Netflix, reports variety.com.
“Gandhari” represents the sixth collaboration between Kanika Dhillon and Taapsee following their successful works like “Manmarziyaan”, “Haseen Dilruba”, and “Phir Aayi Hasseen Dilruba”.

Discussing “Haseen Dillruba”, a romantic thriller helmed by Vinil Mathew, the film also features Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane. It premiered in July 2021, centering around a woman suspected of her husband's murder and unfolding an intriguing narrative about her marriage while police investigate.
A sequel, titled Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, was launched on Netflix in August 2024, with the original cast joined by Sunny Kaushal. The story picks up from the first part, where Rani and Rishu, on the run from police in Agra, plan to elope, only to find themselves in a precarious situation that requires assistance from an unexpected admirer.
‘Gandhari’ is the second project under Kanika Dhillon's production house Kathha Pictures following the success of the mystery drama “Do Patti”. For this action drama, she has enlisted the expertise of highly regarded director Devashish Makhija, known for films such as “Bhonsle” and “Joram”.
Taapsee was last seen in “Khel Khel Mein”, directed by Mudassar Aziz. This film, based on the 2016 Italian film Perfect Strangers, features a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal.
