Travis Barker, drummer for rock band Blink-182, has opened up about the single rule that keeps his marriage to reality television star Kourtney Kardashian on solid ground: never go to bed angry. The couple, who wed in May 2022 after beginning their relationship the previous year, have spoken candidly about how they navigate conflict in their blended household.

The Rule That Grounds Their Relationship

Speaking to People.com, Barker explained the philosophy in his own words: 'We try not to ever fall asleep mad at each other. (We) try to resolve, even if it's just like, ‘Hey, I thought you were going to meet me for lunch, and you didn’t text me back right away, so I didn’t know if we were meeting for lunch.’'

He added: 'Even if it’s just as simple as, like, ‘Oh babe, I take accountability. I’m sorry. I didn’t see your text right away.’ Just resolving anything so you don’t go to bed not feeling connected is really important.'

The emphasis on accountability and daily resolution, even over minor miscommunications, reflects a deliberate approach to emotional maintenance in a high-profile relationship that has played out partly in the public eye.

A Blended Family at the Centre

The couple share a blended family between them. Kourtney Kardashian, 47, has three children — Mason, Penelope, and Reign — from her previous relationship with Scott Disick.
