Chennai, Jan 21 (NationPress) The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has officially granted a U/A certificate to the highly anticipated horror thriller 'Granny', directed by Vijaya Kumaaran and starring the illustrious actress Vadivukkarasi in the central role.

On Wednesday, the film's production team, Vijaya Mary Universal Media, unveiled a poster that confirmed this exciting news.

It’s worth noting that actor Vijay Sethupathi had previously announced the film's title, 'Granny', on January 8 via his X account.

Upon revealing the title poster, Vijay Sethupathi remarked, "Here is the first look poster of VijayaMary Universal Media Production No.1 titled as #GRANNY. Directed by #Vijayakumaaran, featuring #Vadivukkarasi @iamsingapuli @actordhileepan @vijaysonofgod #Vijayamary @kukarthik1 @Gv_Aparna01 #Actorgajaraja @AnanthNag24 @teamaimpr."

The poster showcased Vadivukkarasi with an unsettling appearance as she portrayed an elderly woman with long, flowing white hair. She was depicted holding a lantern in one hand and a staff in the other, while the silhouettes of two children appeared in the background, surrounded by spirits. This intriguing visual sparked significant interest among potential viewers.

In addition to Vadivukkarasi, the film will also star Dhileepan, who is related to acclaimed director A R Murugadoss, as well as actress G V Aparna in a key role, alongside actor Singampuli.

From a technical standpoint, the film boasts cinematography by A Manikandan, music by Chellaiah Pandian, and editing by M S Gopi. The art direction is attributed to PBK Mahendran, with makeup done by Suresh and Prashanth. Additionally, the thrilling stunts in this horror feature, co-produced by T Saravanan, have been choreographed by Action Prakash.
