Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 14 (NationPress) In addition to his successful acting career, Varun Badola has showcased his cricketing prowess. On Saturday, the star of 'Saiyaara' took to social media to reminisce about a memorable moment when he was awarded 'Man of the Match' while representing Mumbai Heroes in the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL).
He shared a video on Instagram displaying his impressive batting skills, revealing that he achieved the first fifty runs against the Telugu Warriors as an opening batsman while also claiming 2 wickets.
Reflecting on those unforgettable times, Varun captioned his post, "Once upon a time when I opened for the Mumbai Heroes in the CCL. Against the TELUGU WARRIORS I scored the first 50, took 2 wickets and made a spectacular catch at the boundary. The first ever MOM of MUMBAI HEROES (sic)."
Currently, Varun, who has been a prominent figure in the television industry for years, discussed the significant evolution of content on the small screen from the early 2000s to the present.
In an exclusive interview with IANS, he was asked, "You've been in the industry for much longer. Many of us have grown up watching your work. How do you view the shift in television content from the early 2000s to now?"
Describing the change as critical, Varun expressed, "Previously, storytelling was concise, precise, and impactful. Shows like Astitva conveyed meaningful narratives. Nowadays, content is often shaped by public demand."
The 'Jamnapaar' actor further mentioned that channels frequently alter storylines based on weekly audience feedback, which can disrupt the storytelling process.
"I sincerely wish that producers and networks would adhere to their narrative designs. Every storyline has its peaks and valleys — that’s inherent. However, if changes are made overnight based on TRPs or audience polls, the narrative loses its richness," he added.
