Mumbai, April 17 (NationPress) Bollywood actors Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde are set to travel to the UK in May for a two-month filming schedule for their anticipated movie “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai”.

A source close to IANS disclosed: “Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde will depart in May for a two-month shoot in the UK for their film… It’s an extensive filming period for their comedy ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’.”

The film’s title “Hain Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hain” draws inspiration from the song “Ishq Sona Hai” featured in the 1999 film “Biwi No.1”, starring Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor. Both movies are directed by David Dhawan.

On March 22, Varun and Pooja provided glimpses from their shooting schedule in Rishikesh.

In a joint post on Instagram, Varun and Pooja shared multiple photos. One video showcased the two actors performing Ganga aarti, while another picture depicted them watering a plant, and another captured Varun speaking into a microphone.

“A wonderful start to our schedule in Rishikesh… Blessed #HainJawaniTohIshqHonaHain,” they captioned the post.

Although not much information has been disclosed about the plot, “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai” is rumored to be influenced by the allure of classic 90s rom-coms.

This project is produced by Ramesh Taurani. Besides Varun and Pooja, the film is expected to feature an ensemble cast including Mrunal Thakur, Kubbra Sait, Maniesh Paul, Rohit Saraf, Rajeev Khandelwal, Nitish Nirmal, and Sreeleela. Varun commenced filming for “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai” in July of the previous year.

Varun will soon appear in “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari” alongside Janhvi Kapoor. Furthermore, he is set to star in Anurag Singh’s “Border 2”, a war drama inspired by the 1999 Kargil War, which also features Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty.

“Border 2” is scheduled to release in theatres on January 23, 2026.

Meanwhile, Pooja is working on “Retro”, a romantic action film written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, which also stars Suriya.

As for Mrunal, she is looking forward to the release of her action entertainer “Dacoit”, where she stars opposite Adivi Sesh, known for ‘Major’.

In addition to “Dacoit”, Mrunal has been cast as the leading lady in “Son of Sardaar 2” and is also involved in a romantic film with Siddhant Chaturvedi.
