Mumbai, Aug 5 (NationPress) It has been three years since actor Vijay Varma received both admiration and criticism for his role as Hamza, an alcoholic and abusive spouse with erratic behavior in "Darlings".

To celebrate this milestone, Vijay shared a series of exclusive behind-the-scenes images from the black comedy on social media.

“3 years of (frog emoji) and (scorpion emoji) Big love to the team and to the fans of the movie. Darlings, I love you all,” he captioned his Instagram post.

The emojis subtly reference the well-known fable of the frog and the scorpion, which resonates with the film’s underlying themes and narrative.

Directed by Jasmeet K. Reen, in her directorial debut, the film boasts a screenplay penned by Parveez Sheikh.

Produced by Alia Bhatt, Gauri Khan, and Gaurav Verma under the banners of Red Chillies Entertainment and Eternal Sunshine Productions, this project also marks Alia's inaugural role as a producer.

The primary cast includes Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew, along with supporting performances from Vikram Pratap, Rajesh Sharma, Vijay Maurya, Santosh Juvekar, and Kiran Karmarkar.

Looking ahead, Vijay has an intriguing lineup with "Matka King". Directed by Nagraj Manjule, known for "Sairat" and "Fandry", the film is set in the gritty backdrop of 1960s Mumbai.

"Matka King" chronicles the journey of a resourceful cotton trader who introduces a new gambling game called Matka, transforming the city's landscape and making it accessible to the masses previously dominated by the affluent.

Produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Manjule, alongside Gargi Kulkarni, Ashish Aryan, and Ashwini Sidwani, under Roy Kapur Films, the film will also feature Kritika Kamra, Sai Tamhankar, Gulshan Grover, and Siddharth Jadhav in pivotal roles, among others.

Additionally, Vijay will be seen in Vibhu Puri's "Gustaakh Ishq", sharing the screen with Naseeruddin Shah, Sharib Hashmi, and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
