Mumbai, January 18 (NationPress) Actor Vijay Varma took a nostalgic journey on Sunday, reflecting on the year 2016, when he captured a photo of the illustrious 'Golden toilet' at the residence of Bollywood's legendary figure Amitabh Bachchan.
Along with the selfie, he shared a collection of throwback images from that year, which highlighted numerous significant professional and personal milestones in his life.
In the selfie, Vijay is seen with the Golden toilet prominently in the background, within the confines of Bachchan's bathroom.
He stated, “2016 was quite a pivotal year for me. I had the opportunity to collaborate with Big B and Shoojit Da on the film Pink, alongside a wonderful cast and crew. I even met the god, Sachin Tendulkar. I took a selfie with a golden toilet at Bachchan’s house.”
“I made gym friends like Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh, met my idol Irrfan Khan, worked on Yaara with Tigmanshu Dhulia, and shot a music video Naina Bawre with my buddy Reensen. Overall, I had a blast amidst my newfound mini-fame,” he added.
Vijay Varma also reminisced about the valuable experience of working alongside megastar Amitabh Bachchan during the production of the courtroom drama Pink, directed by Shoojit Sircar.
The actor credited this film as a crucial milestone in his career, describing the chance to work with Bachchan and Sircar as an exceptional learning experience.
In another image, Vijay is pictured with Amitabh Bachchan at a social event.
Another photograph features him alongside cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, whom he affectionately referred to as 'God' in his post.
Additional images showcase moments from his fitness routines and his camaraderie with actors Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
One more picture reveals Vijay Varma posing with the late Bollywood icon Irrfan Khan, whom he referred to as his ‘hero’.
In a recent conversation with IANS, Vijay elaborated on the challenges of portraying his antagonistic role in Pink.
“It takes time to adapt, and it can be quite challenging,” he remarked to IANS. “I remember when Shoojit Da cast me in Pink. The scene was intensely written, depicting a gruesome moment in a car with Taapsee Pannu and the other two actors,” he explained.
Vijay further confessed to his concerns, stating, “I never imagined I could pull off that scene because I doubted my capabilities. However, as a trained actor, one is expected to deliver. The director's brief was clear—'If a girl doesn't feel like slapping you after watching this, you haven’t done it right.'”
Vijay added humorously, “No one slapped me, but many expressed they wanted to. Sometimes I take on very silly challenges as an actor.”
Recently, Vijay was seen in Gustaakh Ishq, which featured Naseeruddin Shah and Fatima Sana Shaikh. This film was produced under the new banner of acclaimed fashion designer Manish Malhotra, known as Stage5 Production.
