Chennai, Dec 19 (NationPress) The creators of the web series ‘LBW – Love Beyond Wicket’, under the direction of Ganesh Karthikeyan and featuring Vikranth in the lead role, have officially revealed that this highly anticipated Tamil web series will commence streaming on January 1 of the coming year.

This cricket-themed series will be available exclusively on the OTT platform Jio Hotstar.

As a Hotstar Specials production, LBW marks Vikranth's debut in the OTT space. Notably, Vikranth is also an esteemed cricketer in real life, showcasing his cricketing talents during Cricket Celebrity League (CCL) matches.

Produced by Atele Factory, the team behind the hit series 'Heartbeat', LBW is scheduled to launch on January 1, 2026.

The creators have also unveiled a fresh promo. The newly released promotional material for 'LBW – Love Beyond Wicket' narrates the tale of Rangan, a once-promising cricketer whose career never blossomed.

Now a hesitant coach, Rangan is entrusted with the responsibility of training an underdog team at a struggling cricket academy, determined to revive its former glory. Set against the backdrop of grassroots cricket, the series amalgamates sports, emotions, aspirations, and redemption, illustrating the essence of fighting for a second chance—both on and off the pitch.

Regarding his involvement with the series, Vikranth Santhosh expressed, “This is my inaugural collaboration with Jio Hotstar, and making my OTT debut through a series centered on cricket makes it exceptionally special. Cricket has always held a significant place in my heart, and 'LBW' has allowed me to delve into that connection in a profoundly emotional way. Written by Aruna Rakhee and helmed by Ganesh Karthikeyan, the series boasts a robust ensemble cast that includes Sindhu Shyam, Niyathi, Harish, Ayaz Khan, Akshatha, Naveen, Nikhil Nair, and Viswa Mithran, among others.

With its realistic storytelling and relatable characters, 'LBW – Love Beyond Wicket' promises to deliver a heartfelt sports drama that will resonate with audiences across generations.
