Chennai, Jan 25 (NationPress) Actor Vishnu Manchu, who stars in director Mukesh Kumar Singh’s upcoming epic, ‘Kannappa’, has revealed plans to embark on a pilgrimage to the 12 revered Jyothirlingas spread across India.

In a recent Instagram post, Vishnu Manchu, who also wrote the script for ‘Kannappa’ - a tale about a warrior devotee of Lord Shiva, shared a video stating, “I must confess, prior to working on ‘Kannappa’, I wasn't a dedicated devotee of Lord Shiva. My devotion was towards Lord Hanuman, and I continue to recite the Hanuman Chalisa daily.”

“While writing Kannappa, I conducted extensive research that transformed my perspective. I learned about the Jyothrilingas and their significance, which compelled me to visit all 12 sacred sites,” he elaborated.

He emphasized, “Many are unaware of what these Jyothirlingas signify, as I once was. I plan to create a series of videos to educate those who, like me, are unfamiliar with their importance.”

The actor then elaborated on the varying beliefs across different yugas. “Currently, we live in Kaliyug. In Sathyayuga, the focus was on penance to draw closer to God, while meditation was key to understanding one's life purpose. In Kaliyug, the belief is that visiting holy sites not only brings one nearer to God but also reveals the purpose of our existence.”

“These 12 Jyothirlingas are potent sites that attest to Lord Shiva’s presence among ordinary people. From Kedarnath to Rameshwaram, these sites have unique stories. I aspire to visit each Jyothirlinga because it is believed one can discover their life’s purpose at these sacred places. My current life mission is to act until my last breath, yet I ponder, what is my higher purpose? This pilgrimage to the 12 Jyothirlingas represents my journey towards self-realization. I have already visited three JyothirlingasKedarnath, Omkareshwar, and Ujjain. I will share insights about these three temples in my forthcoming video, along with the tales behind all the Jyothirlingas before my visits,” he concluded.
