Mumbai, Nov 26 (NationPress) Actress Esha Deol has candidly shared insights about her changing relationship with her father, Dharmendra.
In a past interview with Lehren TV, she discussed how, while he was quite strict during her childhood, their relationship has now blossomed into a close friendship, significantly strengthening their bond. Esha recounted the experience of working with Dharmendra in the film “Tell Me O Kkhuda.”
She highlighted that although she had performed alongside her mother, Hema Malini—through dance and interviews—this was the first instance where she acted with her father. Esha expressed that even though she tried to maintain her composure, she felt a deep emotional connection and excitement inside.
The ‘Dhoom’ actress shared, “That was a very sweet experience. For the first time, with mummy, we would dance on stage and do interviews, but this time, saying a dialogue in front of my father was a different feeling. Inside, I was overwhelmed, but I made sure to appear calm on the outside.”
When questioned about who was stricter, Dharmendra or Hema Malini, Esha revealed that her father was indeed strict during her formative years. However, she noted that their relationship has evolved into a robust bond over time.
“Mummy is more strict. Papa used to be very strict earlier, but now we share a different friendship, and the bond is incredibly strong,” she stated.
“Tell Me O Kkhuda,” which was directed and produced by Hema Malini, featured an ensemble cast including Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor, Farooq Sheikh, Esha Deol, and Arjan Bajwa. Salman Khan also made a special appearance in the movie. This film marked the first opportunity for Esha to work alongside her father on screen.
