Mumbai, Nov 8 (NationPress) Actress Yami Gautam, who has been garnering significant acclaim for her role in the recently launched film ‘Haq’, shared an interesting anecdote about seeking assistance from a Gen Z individual during the shooting of ‘Bala’.
While promoting the film at a luxurious hotel in the Juhu area of Mumbai, the actress conversed with IANS. The discussion brought to light a famous quote from Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who commented that striving for perfection can be the most tedious aspect of acting. His point was that actors should embrace the possibility of making mistakes, as that’s where the enjoyment lies.
When asked if she aligns with this philosophy, Yami responded, “It truly depends on the film, the character, and the director’s perspective. There are moments when you play a character that is simply meandering through life. Yet, there are roles like ‘Bala’ where I portrayed a TikToker. I had never even created a TikTok account, let alone understood the platform, so I was fortunate to seek guidance from a Gen Z the day before shooting, saying, ‘Please assist me’. It's a completely different realm, and I must adapt to it.”
She elaborated, “My preparation must be incredibly detailed. If I mispronounce a word, I need to know how that mispronunciation should sound, so it has to be nuanced and balanced, regardless of whether it's in the script or not. In ‘Article 370’, it’s often subtly implied. When I mention ‘uninhibited’, it refers to my desire to perform freely and without restraint.”
“At times, we become encumbered by certain elements during the process, but it’s essential to release those, to surrender to the craft and the character,” she concluded.
