Mumbai, Feb 17 (NationPress) Actor Zahan Kapoor reminisced as he revealed behind-the-scenes snapshots from the production of his upcoming series ‘Bandwaale’.
Showing appreciation to the team, Zahan initially posted a series of photos from the set on Instagram. He expressed his gratitude to creators Ankur Tewari and Swanand Kirkire for involving him in what he termed a remarkable creative venture.
He commented: “Here are some BTS moments from the days spent creating Bandwaale (originally known as Janta Band). A heartfelt thank you to @ankurtewari & @swanandkirkire for including us in this creative journey, and to @tessjosephcasting for facilitating my entry into this captivating story (sic).”
Zahan conveyed his admiration for the entire cast and crew, labeling them as dedicated artists and craftsmen who contributed to a memorable experience.
“I felt empowered by the talented crew and feel fortunate to perform alongside such passionate artists and craftsmen. Thank you @primevideoin @onlymuchlouder for supporting this band of misfits, both on-screen and off-screen. Forever grateful for this journey, and I eagerly anticipate discovering even more,” he shared.
The series also features Shalini Pandey and Swanand Kirkire. It centers on Mariam, a young poetess from a quiet town, who seeks liberation by sharing her poetry online, aided by a brass band singer and a DJ.
Zahan initiated his career at Prithvi Theatre, following the legacy of his grandfather Shashi Kapoor. He began by assisting theatre director Sunil Shanbag in workshops for children.
He even hosted performances for newcomers. In 2019, he made his theatre debut in Makarand Deshpande's play “Pitaji Please” at Prithvi Theatre.
He made his Bollywood debut with the film “Faraaz”, directed by Hansal Mehta, in 2022, which portrays the tragedy of the July 2016 Dhaka attack.
Following his film debut, Zahan returned to theatre in June 2023 with “Siachen”, a play written by Aditya Rawal and directed by Makarand Deshpande, depicting the survival tale of Indian soldiers stranded on the Siachen Glacier.
He was also featured in Black Warrant, inspired by the 2019 non-fiction book Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer by Sunil Gupta and Sunetra Choudhury, discussing Gupta's experiences as a jailer at Tihar Prisons. The inaugural season covers Gupta's journey until 1984 and includes real-life criminals like Charles Sobhraj and Ranga-Billa.
