Mumbai, Jan 29 (NationPress) Renowned Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman disclosed that her introverted nature often leads her to be misunderstood.
Zeenat shared an old photo on Instagram, stating: “As an introvert, I feel I’m often misunderstood. If that sounds too self-serving and dramatic, you might say that introversion encourages miscommunication.”
The seasoned actress expressed that she is protective over her personal life.
“I prefer not to overshare, keeping my thoughts regarding others to myself, and find large social gatherings to be quite draining. Just ask Cara and Zahaan, who handle my invitations. The pile of regrets is nearing the ceiling while the acceptances could fit in my purse,” she remarked.
“On good days, my quietness is perceived as enigmatic, composed, and graceful. However, on bad days, I can be viewed as aloof, brusque, and uptight. This predicament makes me feel like I’m walking a tightrope. While I do enjoy the occasional social event, I struggle with feigning candor and humor.”
She concluded, “Yet, I suppose no introvert has discovered the ideal social situation. I might as well stay in with Lily, a cup of tea, and my peace of mind. You extroverts go have your fun.”
On January 21, the actress discussed a near-death experience where she nearly choked on her blood pressure medication.
“If I risk sounding like an elderly woman struggling with her tablets, let me recount what happened last night. After a long day of shooting in Andheri East, I returned home to an excited Lily. After giving her the attention she deserves, I quickly went through my nightly routine.”
“My final task before surrendering to sleep was to take my blood pressure medication.”
She added, “I swallowed the pill, took a sip of water, and then felt my breath catch. The little pill was stuck in my throat—too far down to bring back and too far up to swallow. I could still breathe, but it was constricted. I took several drinks of water, until the glass was empty, but the pill was still lodged.”
Zeenat further mentioned how her son, Zahaan Khan, came to her aid, “I was alone at home with just the dog and the five cats, and panic began to set in. I tried reaching the doctor, but the line was busy, so I made frantic calls to @zanuski, who dropped everything to rush over. As I waited, discomfort grew in my throat, and all I could think about was that pesky pill hindering my breath.”
Zeenat revealed there was no dramatic conclusion to her ordeal.
She finished by stating, “Sometimes it’s vital to confront an issue directly. To face, challenge, and alter. Yet, at times, a situation calls for softer approaches like patience, restraint, and equanimity.”
