Mumbai, April 6 (NationPress) Renowned actress Zeenat Aman, often referred to as the ‘Queen of Instagram’, is reflecting on a cherished moment from her past. On Monday, she took to Instagram to share two photographs and reminisce about how her mother elegantly draped her in a saree for her inaugural professional photo shoot.

The first image is a nostalgic snapshot from her youth, featuring a sepia-toned portrait of her with short hair.

In the caption, she penned a heartfelt note, stating, “Though I can’t recall the exact year, the thrill I experienced that morning is etched in my memory. My mother was taking me to the esteemed Hamilton Studio in Ballard Estate for my very first professional photographs. I sensed that there might be a future in modelling for me, and at the very least, it would allow me to earn some pocket money while continuing my education. Having just graduated from St. Joseph’s Convent with outstanding grades, I was back home in South Bombay with my mother.”

She elaborated on her surroundings, mentioning that she had prominent producers as neighbors, film stars residing nearby, and many of her older friends were entering the film industry.

Continuing, she remarked, “Conversations and gatherings were centered around cinema, and this environment motivated me to take that leap. Every girl from South Bombay of my era knows the excitement of being photographed at Hamilton. Established in 1928, it is one of India’s oldest photography studios, where numerous notable individuals have had their portraits captured. My mother was never one for half measures, especially when it came to her beloved only child.”

“Thus, that extraordinary woman styled my hair, adorned me in a saree, and stood behind the camera while I posed nervously for the very first time. It would be several years post this photo that Dev Anand would discover me. As for the second image, it’s a fake! I’m unsure how this misconception arose, but for years, this photo has been circulated as one of a young Zeenat Aman. I can see a resemblance; however, it is simply not me,” she concluded.
