New Delhi, Sep 2 (NationPress) The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) is poised to create a favorable environment to propel India into a leading position as a global hub for research and innovation, according to CEO Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman.
During his lecture at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, he elaborated on the vision of ANRF, outlining how the organization is dedicated to establishing optimal research conditions for scientists and academic professionals.
Kalyanaraman emphasized the continuous initiatives being undertaken by ANRF to facilitate scientific endeavors, particularly in enhancing procurement models.
He also invited IIT Delhi researchers to propose innovative concepts for launching mission-mode programs.
"We aim to create a Principal Investigator (PI)-friendly research atmosphere so they can focus more on impactful projects for the nation and the globe, rather than getting bogged down by administrative tasks," Kalyanaraman stated.
Furthermore, the ANRF was established by the government in 2024 through the ANRF Act of 2023, designed to guide high-level strategic directions in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The projected budget for ANRF over five years is estimated at Rs 50,000 crores.
ANRF seeks to foster collaborations between industry, academia, government entities, and research institutions, facilitating an interface for industry and state government involvement alongside scientific ministries.
Additionally, Kalyanaraman toured the Central Research Facility (CRF) at IIT Delhi and participated in a brainstorming session with senior officials to outline IIT Delhi’s contributions to national development.
He also held a special session with young faculty members at IIT Delhi, engaging in discussions about their ideas and suggestions to enhance the research ecosystem in Indian institutions while keeping them informed about the vision and operational methods of ANRF.
