Jaipur, May 28 (NationPress) The Covid-19 situation in Rajasthan is witnessing a gradual uptick, with seven fresh cases confirmed within the last 24 hours across two cities. At AIIMS Jodhpur, two cases were identified, while five additional cases emerged in Jaipur.
In AIIMS Jodhpur, the two positive cases involve a 16-year-old girl from Balotra and a 31-year-old woman from Bikaner. In Jaipur, the new cases were recorded at Sawai Man Singh Hospital (SMS), Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS), Jaipuria Hospital, and another private facility. Consequently, the Covid-19 tally in Rajasthan for this year has escalated to 39, which includes one recorded death.
In light of the increasing numbers, the Health Department has initiated precautionary actions. Ravi Prakash Sharma, the Health Department Director, has mandated all divisional joint directors to carry out mock drills to evaluate oxygen supply in district hospitals. He emphasized the necessity for all district hospitals to be adequately equipped. This includes inspecting the inventory and condition of oxygen cylinders and concentrators, confirming the operational status of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) tanks, and providing a detailed report on oxygen infrastructure by June 2.
"The available oxygen stock in hospitals, the number and condition of oxygen concentrators, as well as the status of liquid medical oxygen tanks, must be reported by June 2 by all district hospitals," he stated. These initiatives aim to bolster the state's preparedness in anticipation of a potential surge in Covid-19 cases.
Currently, the state has documented 39 Covid-19 cases for this year, along with one fatality. As per the latest statistics, a total of 39 Covid-19 cases have surfaced across several districts in Rajasthan. Jaipur tops the list with 17 cases, trailed by Jodhpur with six cases and Udaipur with four cases. Didwana has reported three cases, while Ajmer and Bikaner each recorded two cases. Additionally, Balotra, Dausa, Phalodi, and Sawai Madhopur documented one case each. A further case was noted from another unspecified region in the state.
