Bhopal, Sep 23 (NationPress) In a groundbreaking initiative towards enhancing digital healthcare, the government of Madhya Pradesh has unveiled 'SUMAN SAKHI', an innovative chatbot powered by artificial intelligence, aimed at facilitating access to women's health information.

This initiative is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Safe Motherhood Campaign and is being celebrated as a pivotal achievement in the state's public health strategy.

Created by the National Health Mission (NHM) in partnership with the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSeDC), the chatbot is tailored to offer 24/7 assistance in Hindi.

It provides essential information to expectant mothers regarding antenatal care, high-risk conditions, and various government health and welfare programs.

"This is a highly significant endeavor in Madhya Pradesh. Through SUMAN SAKHI, our sisters can access timely and accurate health information," remarked Kailash Vijayvargiya, Urban Development Minister and government spokesperson.

The chatbot can be accessed directly through WhatsApp, a platform that enjoys widespread usage across Madhya Pradesh.

Officials have indicated that this choice was intentional, designed to minimize adoption barriers by negating the need for separate applications or technical expertise.

In its initial phase, 'SUMAN SAKHI' will address queries pertaining to maternal health and pregnancy, with future updates set to broaden its focus to encompass additional health and social welfare programs for women.

The rollout will commence in selected districts, with plans for gradual expansion throughout the state.

Minister Vijayvargiya further highlighted the chatbot's vital role in closing the information gap; "It will serve as a support system for women seeking guidance on health schemes and pregnancy-related care."

This launch is aligned with the state's 'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar' campaign, reinforcing its dedication to women’s health and family welfare.

Officials noted that 'SUMAN SAKHI' is among the first AI-driven digital tools for women's health introduced at the state level in India.

By integrating AI into a widely used messaging platform, the government aims to connect with women who may lack regular access to healthcare providers, particularly in rural and underserved regions.
