Kabul, Aug 20 (NationPress) Afghan police successfully discovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition during two distinct operations in the eastern province of Ghazni and the southern province of Uruzgan, as reported by the Ministry of Interior Affairs on Wednesday.
The seized items comprised 16 units of both heavy and light weaponry, including PK machine guns, M16 rifles, Kalashnikovs, assault rifles, and rocket launchers, located in Tirin Kot city, the capital of Uruzgan, along with Jaghouri and Qara Bagh districts of Ghazni, according to Xinhua News Agency.
Furthermore, officials confiscated a large amount of ammunition and military gear, which included communication devices, explosives, and a considerable stockpile of cartridges and bullets during these operations.
These operations form part of the Afghan interim government's persistent efforts to enhance security throughout the conflict-ridden nation, having recovered thousands of weapons and enormous quantities of ammunition over the last four years.
