New Delhi, April 12 (NationPress) An exhibition named 'Angels of Minab' has been launched at the Iranian Embassy in New Delhi, highlighting drawings created by children. These artworks were salvaged from the ruins of a girls' elementary school in Minab, which was devastated on February 28 due to a series of coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran.

The attack on the school occurred during the initial stages of the US-Israeli military operations, resulting in the tragic loss of over 165 children and staff.

According to reports, a US Tomahawk missile hit the area adjacent to an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval base. Following the incident, US assessments accepted culpability, attributing the tragedy to a targeting error rather than an intentional strike.

This exhibition aims to spotlight the profound human toll of the ongoing conflict, presenting the recovered drawings as reflections of a world that was once filled with innocence and hope.

The initiative is also consistent with Iran's broader diplomatic narrative, especially after the breakdown of peace discussions with the United States in Islamabad.

In a post shared on X, the Embassy remarked, "These drawings were excavated from beneath the debris of a school in Minab, a school that was obliterated in a military assault carried out by the US and the Zionist regime."

"The pages were salvaged through the efforts of Red Crescent rescue teams and have been restored just enough to be visible. The world depicted in them remains simple, bright, and trustworthy. Unfortunately, the external world did not remain so. Children must never be victims of war; yet, in every conflict, numerous worlds are extinguished alongside them," it further stated.

On the preceding Saturday, a symbolic representation from an aircraft ferrying Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf to Islamabad showcased portraits of the children who perished in the Minab school assault, arranged alongside backpacks and roses on airplane seats.

During the flight to Islamabad, Ghalibaf utilized the high-stakes journey to convey a powerful visual statement. Several empty seats were adorned with photographs and personal belongings of the Minab school attack victims.

Sharing the imagery on X, Ghalibaf noted, "My companions on this flight, Minab 168," in reference to the children and staff who tragically lost their lives in the February 28, 2026, strike on the elementary school in Minab.

The Minab school attack has been widely characterized as one of the most devastating incidents involving civilian casualties during the early days of the conflict, with children representing the majority of those killed.

The school was situated less than 100 yards from the perimeter of an IRGC naval base. However, satellite imagery and historical records reveal that the structure was entirely repurposed for civilian educational use between 2013 and 2016, physically separated from the base by a wall.

US officials have consistently claimed that the strike on the school was unintentional, describing it as a case of misidentification during targeting rather than a deliberate attack on a civilian facility.
