Quetta, Jan 12 (NationPress) A young boy has been severely injured following an explosion in a garbage heap in the city of Turbat, located in Balochistan, Pakistan. Local authorities have initiated an investigation into this troubling incident, as reported by media sources.

The injured child, named Adil and the son of Qadir, resides in the Fish Market area of Turbat. He sustained grave injuries from the blast that occurred in the Jusak area on Friday, according to The Balochistan Post. Adil has since been rushed to the hospital for urgent medical care.

Medical professionals at the facility stated that the child experienced significant trauma to one of his legs, categorizing his condition as critical. The precise cause of the explosion remains unknown, prompting the launch of an official investigation.

Previously, on January 5, a substantial protest took place in Turbat, where numerous individuals voiced their concerns over the escalating crime rate and lawlessness in the Kech district of Balochistan. Hundreds of men and women participated in this demonstration, organized by All Parties Kech, along with the local traders' association, medical associations, and civil society groups, as per local reports.

The protest commenced at Apsar Bazaar and traversed multiple city areas before culminating at Shaheed Fida Chowk, evolving into a large assembly. During the event, National Party leader and former Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Malik Baloch expressed that the law and order situation in Kech has reached a critical point.

He emphasized that it is the duty of state institutions to guarantee the safe return of abducted youths, Haseeb Haji Yaseen and Shah Nawaz Gul Jan. Additionally, he urged authorities to take their responsibilities seriously and ensure public safety. Baloch noted that affected families and political figures have approached various agencies over the past month, yet each entity has deflected responsibility.

Kech Bar Association President Advocate Syed Majeed Shah condemned the ongoing kidnappings in the area, revealing that the bar association had boycotted court proceedings in protest.

Former Senator Ismail Buledi highlighted that residents in Kech and the broader Makran region are grappling with insecurity. He pointed out that businesses have shut down, job opportunities are dwindling, and individuals are being stripped of their fundamental right to security. He called for protection for local traders and demanded an end to ransom kidnappings.
