China Expands Unreliable Entities List by Adding 10 US Firms

Beijing, Jan 2 (NationPress) The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) of China disclosed on Thursday that a total of 10 US companies have been included in the unreliable entities list for their activities in selling arms to the Taiwan region.

The list comprises firms such as Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, and Lockheed Martin Missile System Integration Lab, as stated in the MOC announcement.

These companies will face restrictions prohibiting them from participating in any import or export activities related to China and will be barred from making new investments within the country, according to MOC.

Senior officials from these firms will also be restricted from entering China, with their work permits, visitor, or residency statuses revoked. Furthermore, any related applications they submit will be disapproved, as noted in the announcement.

The MOC highlighted that these companies have engaged in arms transactions with the Taiwan region and have pursued what they term as cooperation on military technologies over the years, despite strong objections from China, according to reports by Xinhua news agency.

Such actions have significantly compromised China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, grossly violated the one-China principle and the three China-US joint communiques, and have seriously disrupted peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, as per the ministry's statement, which adds that these companies will be held accountable under the law.

The MOC reiterated that its provisions regarding unreliable entities specifically target a limited number of foreign firms that threaten China's national security. The ministry expressed that the Chinese government remains open to welcoming foreign firms to invest and grow their operations in China while assuring a stable, fair, and predictable business environment for compliant companies.
