New York, March 1 (NationPress) Leaders of the Democratic Party have criticized US President Donald Trump for appearing to support his Russian ally, Vladimir Putin, during a public confrontation with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday.
Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer expressed his outrage in a fiery post on X, stating, "Trump and [Vice President JD] Vance are doing Putin's dirty work. Senate Democrats will never cease our fight for freedom and democracy".
Former Speaker and prominent Democratic figure Nancy Pelosi labeled the Oval Office encounter a "shameful display". She remarked, "Putin must be thrilled with the theatrics on display today," adding that engaging with Zelensky "in a dignified manner" would have showcased strength for the President of the United States.
