Elon Musk Criticizes Biden for Honoring Soros with the Presidential Medal of Freedom

New York, Jan 5 (NationPress) Tesla CEO and close associate of President-elect Donald Trump, Elon Musk, has joined the growing trend of online mockery aimed at billionaire George Soros after US President Joe Biden decided to honor him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, recognized as the highest civilian award in the US.

Musk's meme, which compares Soros to a Star Wars antagonist, has quickly gained popularity across various social media platforms.

The meme illustrates Soros as Sheev Palpatine, also known as Darth Sidious, from the Star Wars series. In these films, Palpatine masquerades as a benevolent leader while secretly scheming to seize control of the galaxy as the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. Musk's meme insinuates that Soros might also be concealing his genuine intentions while portraying himself as a philanthropist, with the caption, 'George Soros looking quite good here. Must be the lighting.'

This humorous post added a layer of satire, capturing widespread attention.

The ridicule follows President Biden's announcement of Soros as one of the 19 honorees of the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Saturday. The White House praised Soros for his significant contributions to global democracy, human rights, education, and social justice via his Open Society Foundations. Other honorees included former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, football icon Lionel Messi, and actors Michael J. Fox and Denzel Washington.

Musk's remarks are merely the latest in a series of controversies surrounding Soros. The billionaire investor and philanthropist has been a frequent target of disdain, particularly from conservative personalities.

Beyond the uproar in the US, Soros has also been embroiled in a political controversy in India. During the Winter Session of Parliament in December, BJP President J.P. Nadda accused the Congress party of having connections to Soros and his organizations, claiming they are utilized by foreign entities to destabilize India. Nadda specifically pointed out Congress leader Sonia Gandhi’s alleged ties to Soros-funded initiatives.

However, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge quickly refuted these accusations as unfounded, asserting that the BJP is attempting to divert attention from pressing socio-economic challenges facing the nation. This clash resulted in multiple adjournments in both houses of Parliament.
