FBI Director Wray Announces Resignation by End of Biden's Administration

Washington, December 12 (NationPress) FBI director Christopher Wray informed agency personnel on Wednesday of his decision to resign at the conclusion of President Joe Biden’s term. This move facilitates a seamless transition to Kashyap “Kash” Patel, assuming he is confirmed as President-elect Donald Trump’s appointee to lead the agency.

“I’ve concluded that the appropriate course for the bureau is for me to serve until the end of the current administration in January, and then step down,” Wray stated during a town hall meeting with FBI staff, emphasizing, “This is the best way to prevent the bureau from becoming further embroiled in controversy while upholding the values and principles that are crucial to our operations.”

Although Wray has three years remaining in his ten-year term, his role at the bureau became precarious after Trump indicated a desire for his departure by nominating Patel.

The president-elect has not requested Wray’s resignation and did not specify whether he would dismiss him after taking office on January 20. However, it was clear that he was dissatisfied with Wray.

“The resignation of Christopher Wray is a significant victory for America, as it will put an end to what has been termed the Weaponization of the United States Department of Injustice,” Trump posted on Truth Social, his social media platform. “I’m not sure what happened to him. We will now restore the Rule of Law for all Americans. Under Christopher Wray’s leadership, the FBI unlawfully raided my home without justification, worked assiduously on the illegal impeachment against me, and has done everything possible to hinder the success and future of America.

They have wielded their extensive powers to threaten and ruin many innocent Americans, some of whom may never recover from the harm done to them.”

In a Sunday interview with NBC News, Trump expressed his discontent with Wray, stating, “He invaded Mar-a-Lago. I’m extremely unhappy with his actions.”

Wray was appointed as FBI director by Trump during his first term, succeeding Jim Comey. Under Wray’s governance, the FBI initiated multiple investigations against Trump and executed a raid on his Florida estate related to classified documents that he failed to return for archiving.

The bureau also scrutinized Trump regarding extensive efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.

Furthermore, Wray’s FBI examined President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden for potential violations of gun laws and tax evasion.
