Washington, April 17 (NationPress) A shooting incident has resulted in multiple casualties at Florida State University (FSU) in Florida on Thursday.

According to WFTV9, an Orlando-based news outlet, five individuals have lost their lives and four others have sustained injuries. Unnamed law enforcement officials indicated that there are two suspected shooters, one of whom is deceased while the other is in custody.

Authorities have yet to confirm these figures.

The university's alert system stated, “An active shooter has been reported in the vicinity of the Student Union.”

President Donald Trump, a resident of Florida but situated in the White House during the event, expressed his condolences, calling the shooting a “shame.”

Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis shared his thoughts on X, stating, “Our prayers are with our FSU family, and state law enforcement is actively responding.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has also been deployed to the site of the incident.

FBI Director Kash Patel posted on X, “My team and I have been briefed on the tragic shooting at Florida State, and our FBI Jacksonville team is on the ground assisting. We will provide full support to local law enforcement as needed.”

Student Daniella Streety recounted to NBC news, “I did see them carry out one student in what looked like on a stretcher and kept them in the road until an ambulance was able to pick them up.”
