Authorities Reveal Identity of Suspect in Wisconsin School Shooting Incident

New York, Dec 17 (NationPress) A teenage student fatally shot a teacher and another teenage student at a Christian school in Wisconsin, U.S., as per police statements.

The suspect has been identified as a 15-year-old female student from the Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, who was discovered deceased from an apparent suicide when law enforcement arrived, Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes informed the media during a press briefing on Monday afternoon, noting that the motive is still unknown.

Four additional students are currently receiving treatment at local medical facilities, with two in critical condition, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.

As per Barnes, the shooting took place in a study hall and was initially reported by a second-grader. Police responded to the scene within four minutes.

Barnes expressed his intention to ensure all family members are informed before releasing the identities and ages of the victims.

“This tragedy serves as a powerful reminder that we must enhance our efforts to protect both our children and educators to prevent such atrocities from occurring again,” stated Jill Underly, Wisconsin's superintendent of public instruction.

“We will not cease our efforts until we find solutions that guarantee the safety of our schools.”

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers mentioned that he is closely tracking the situation. “We are praying for the students, educators, and the entire Abundant Life school community as we await further information, and we are thankful for the first responders who are acting swiftly,” he added.

However, the Madison Police Department refrained from disclosing details about the four individuals killed in the shooting at the Christian school on Monday morning, citing the necessity to contact the victims' families before providing further information.

U.S. President Joe Biden has been informed about the school shooting incident in Madison.

“The President has received updates regarding the school shooting in Madison, Wisconsin. Senior officials from the White House are communicating with local authorities in Madison to offer support as necessary,” stated Emilie Simons, senior deputy press secretary.
