London, Oct 4 (NationPress) On Saturday, global leaders expressed their approval of Hamas' willingness to release all hostages and to engage based on the peace initiative proposed by US President Donald Trump.

This significant development comes in the wake of Hamas announcing its agreement to liberate all hostages currently held in Gaza.

The gesture is widely interpreted as a response to a renewed peace effort led by Trump, who recently introduced a 20-point peace plan.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer characterized Hamas' acceptance of the US peace proposal as a crucial advancement, stating, "We wholeheartedly support President Trump's initiatives, which have brought us closer to peace than ever before. There is now a chance to conclude the conflict, secure the return of hostages, and ensure humanitarian aid reaches those in dire need."

He further urged all parties to promptly execute the agreement, affirming that the UK, alongside its partners, is prepared to aid in further negotiations aimed at achieving lasting peace for both Israelis and Palestinians.

French President Emmanuel Macron took to social media to emphasize that Hamas' commitment must be promptly acted upon.

"The release of all hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza are attainable. Hamas' promise must be executed without delay. We now have a chance to make meaningful strides towards peace. France will contribute fully in line with its efforts at the United Nations, working alongside the United States, Israelis, Palestinians, and all international partners," Macron stated on X.

Meanwhile, Australia expressed its support for the advancements in Trump's plan for peace in Gaza.

“We have consistently joined international appeals for a ceasefire, the return of hostages, and unrestricted humanitarian aid access for those in need. I reiterate our call on Hamas to accept the plan, cease hostilities, and release all remaining hostages immediately,” Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated.

He also noted that Australia will persist in its efforts to conclude the war and strive for "a just and sustainable two-state solution."

Additionally, New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon called for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza, labeling Hamas' announcement as a "very welcome step forward" on X.

"All efforts must now concentrate on realizing the opportunity it presents. The priority remains the return of hostages, ending the fighting, and ensuring unrestricted humanitarian access to Gaza. Together with the international community, New Zealanders embrace the hope this offers for a future where Israelis and Palestinians coexist peacefully and securely," he added.
