New Delhi, April 25 (NationPress) Ambassadors from Israel, Egypt, Argentina, and Nepal convened with External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar in New Delhi on Friday, conveying their solidarity with India in its battle against terrorism in the aftermath of the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam.
During her visit to India, Helen Clark, the former Prime Minister of New Zealand, also paid a visit to EAM to express her support regarding the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
"It was a pleasure to meet former PM of New Zealand Helen Clark this evening. I truly appreciate her support and solidarity regarding the Pahalgam terrorist attack. We spoke about cooperation in health and development," EAM Jaishankar shared on social media.
Furthermore, Jaishankar engaged in a phone conversation with Faisal bin Farhan, the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, concerning the terrorist attack from Tuesday that resulted in the loss of 26 innocent lives and left many others injured.
"Had a telecon with Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan of Saudi Arabia. We discussed the Pahalgam terrorist attack and its cross-border implications," stated the External Affairs Minister.
Earlier that day, EAM met with Israeli Ambassador Reuven Azar and expressed appreciation for Israel's unwavering support in combating cross-border terrorism. "Had a productive discussion with Ambassador Reuven Azar of Israel in New Delhi today," remarked Jaishankar.
Ambassador Azar also took to social media to thank EAM Jaishankar for their insightful discussion.
"Grateful for the fruitful discussion with Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar. Looking forward to collaborating to tackle shared challenges and explore the many opportunities between India and Israel!" he posted on social media.
The Ambassador of Egypt also met Jaishankar and offered assistance in the fight against terrorism.
"Met with Ambassador Kamel Zayed of Egypt. We discussed enhancing our strategic partnership and I appreciated Egypt's support in combating terrorism," EAM Jaishankar noted.
In the late afternoon, Jaishankar met with Nepal's Ambassador Shankar Sharma to extend his condolences on the death of a Nepali citizen in the Pahalgam terror incident. They also discussed the current state of India–Nepal relations.
The Nepalese Ambassador expressed profound solidarity with India following the tragic terror attack.
"Shared our heartfelt condolences and steadfast solidarity with India over the Pahalgam terror attack during my meeting with EAM S. Jaishankar today. He also expressed condolences on the death of a Nepali national, Sudip Neupane. We reviewed our overall Nepal-India relations," Shankar Sharma posted on social media.
Additionally, EAM Jaishankar met with Argentinian Ambassador Mariano Caucino and welcomed Argentina's condemnation of the Pahalgam attack. They discussed advancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between India and Argentina.
Meanwhile, numerous world leaders reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to express their condolences for the innocent lives lost in the Pahalgam terror attack while denouncing the atrocious act.
This attack has prompted a series of strong diplomatic and strategic responses from India, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, expulsion of Pakistani military attaches, closure of the Attari-Wagah border, and cancellation of the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme for Pakistani nationals.
