New Delhi, Nov 15 (NationPress) Indian Navy chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi engaged in discussions concerning mutual maritime interests with leading US Commanders during his official visit, as stated by an official on Saturday.
The Chief of Naval Staff conducted a series of high-level discussions with Adm Samuel J Paparo, Commander of @INDOPACOM; Adm Stephen T Koehler, Commander of @USPacificFleet; and Lt Gen James F Glynn, Commander of US Marine Forces Pacific @USMC,” as reported by the Indian Navy Spokesperson on X.
“The conversations focused on essential pillars of defence collaboration, such as enhancing Maritime Security and Maritime Cooperation, improving Interoperability, and exploring new operational engagement opportunities across the Indo-Pacific,” he noted.
“Topics also included priority areas of shared maritime interest, emphasizing deeper information sharing and maritime domain awareness, building upon frameworks like IPMDA and collaborations with @IFC_IOR.”
The discussions reinforced the long-standing partnership between the Indian Navy and the US Navy, addressing issues such as the protection of sea lines of communication and vital undersea infrastructure; coordinated actions for HADR and SAR missions, as well as counter-piracy efforts and non-traditional security challenges.
Further areas of interest discussed included more sophisticated and frequent bilateral/multilateral exercises (such as MALABAR, PASSEX, and CMF/MILAN frameworks) to enhance joint warfighting, logistics, and sustainment.
Collaboration in emerging domains—unmanned systems, ISR, cyber, and space-enabled maritime operations—was also part of the discussions, aimed at boosting readiness and resilience at sea, the statement on X indicated.
The interactions reiterated the persistent partnership between the two navies, as well as the increasing synergy with US Marine and joint forces, grounded in mutual trust, shared values, and a collective commitment to a free, open, inclusive, and rules-based maritime order, it stated.
In another announcement, the Indian Navy spokesperson remarked, “Indian Navy will host Swavlamban 2025 on November 25-26 at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi—a premier platform for innovators, startups, industry and the Armed Forces.”
“This edition will highlight groundbreaking technologies, indigenous solutions, and the Navy’s pursuit of Aatmanirbharta, contributing to India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat. It will be a showcase of India’s technological prowess and maritime vision for the future,” the statement concluded.
