Admiral Dinesh Tripathi's Official Visit to Indonesia to Fortify Maritime Relations

New Delhi, Dec 14 (NationPress) Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), is embarking on a four-day official visit to Indonesia from December 15 to 18 to strengthen bilateral defense ties, an official report indicated on Saturday.

This visit highlights the robust maritime partnership between the two nations, aligning with the mutual goal of India-Indonesia Maritime Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

During his stay, the CNS plans to engage in bilateral talks with senior Indonesian government and defense officials, including Lt Gen Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin (retd), the Defense Minister of Indonesia, General Agus Subiyanto, the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, and Admiral Muhammad Ali, the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy.

This visit is part of ongoing initiatives to further solidify defense relations between India and Indonesia, reflecting the deepening Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with an emphasis on enhancing Naval Cooperation.

The current maritime collaboration between the two navies includes a variety of activities such as joint exercises, port visits, and training programs aimed at building operational capacity. Currently, the 43rd India-Indonesia Coordinated Patrol is in progress (from December 10 to 18) along the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).

The discussions are anticipated to encompass a wide range of defense cooperation topics, particularly focusing on maritime security, joint training efforts, and exploring new avenues to enhance operational collaboration between the two navies.

Admiral Tripathi’s engagements in Indonesia are expected to further fortify the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two navies, facilitating improved collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

Earlier this week, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, along with CNS Admiral Tripathi and other senior defense and civilian officials from India and Russia, commissioned the Navy's latest multi-role, stealth-guided missile frigate, 'INS Tushil', an upgraded Krivak III Class frigate under Project 1135.6, at Kaliningrad, Russia.
