New Delhi, Oct 3 (NationPress) Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal met with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to discuss enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between their countries.

“Our talks reinforced our dedication to further fortify this comprehensive strategic partnership, leveraging the robust momentum and extensive potential for future expansion,” stated Minister Goyal on the social platform X.

In response, Wong noted they “had a productive discussion aimed at deepening our economic ties, covering aspects from industrial park development to emerging technologies such as AI.”

Additionally, Minister Goyal engaged with Chin Yau Seng, CEO of Singapore Airlines Engineering Company (SIAEC), focusing on enhancing India-Singapore cooperation in the aviation Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) sector.

“We also examined new paths for collaboration in innovation, skill development, and investment to elevate India’s expanding aerospace sector and improve global connectivity,” emphasized Goyal in another post on X.

Furthermore, he met with Lee Chee Koon, Group CEO, and Manohar Khiatani, Senior Executive Director of CapitaLand Investment, where discussions revolved around promoting sustainable urban development and infrastructure growth in India, particularly in logistics, warehousing, and data centers.

“We also investigated new opportunities for propelling India’s growth narrative via strategic collaborations,” he shared.

Last month, Wong interacted with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi to review the outcomes of the recently conducted 3rd India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable and explore interests in cross-border data flows and capital markets.

“It was a pleasure to reconnect with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. We discussed the outcomes of our recent ministerial roundtable and our eagerness to collaborate on cross-border data flows and capital markets,” PM Wong posted on X.

“There is substantial potential for Singapore and India to enhance our financial and digital connections,” he added.

This meeting coincides with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore, reaffirming both nations' ongoing commitment to strengthen their partnership.
