New Delhi, Nov 15 (NationPress) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has announced that he engaged in discussions aimed at fortifying people-to-people connections, boosting investment, and expanding cultural and business partnerships while meeting with various global leaders during the 'CII Partnership Summit 2025' in Visakhapatnam.
“I had a brief meeting with Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry of Singapore, along with K. Shanmugam, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs,” the Minister shared on X.
“We explored ways to enhance people-to-people relations, elevate investment levels, and broaden our cultural and business engagement. Additionally, I met Anil Kumar Sinha, Nepal's Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, to discuss enhancing cooperation in various sectors of mutual interest,” Goyal added.
He also had a meeting with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the WTO, during the summit.
“India is dedicated to supporting the WTO in its mission to strengthen the multilateral trading framework and ensure equitable trade for the advantage of all member nations,” Goyal emphasized.
In his discussions with Maninder Sidhu, Canada's Minister of International Trade, he addressed strategies to enhance two-way investment and reinforce economic collaboration between India and Canada.
Furthermore, Goyal met with a delegation led by Khaled Alkhattaf, CEO of the Saudi Investment Promotion Authority.
“We talked about fortifying bilateral economic relations, boosting investments, and nurturing greater collaboration between India and Saudi Arabia,” stated the Commerce Minister.
Earlier, while addressing the CII Partnership Summit, Goyal remarked that Bharat's strategy to navigate the new geo-economic landscape emphasizes achieving prosperity through technology, fostering trust through righteousness, and enhancing trade through competence.
Goyal further expressed that India aspires to become a developed and prosperous nation, where every state flourishes and every citizen enjoys a superior quality of life.
