IDF Reveals 50 Fighter Jets Targeted Khamenei's Bunker
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Tel Aviv, March 6 (NationPress) A total of 50 fighter jets from the Air Force participated in the assault on the Iranian regime's leadership facility located in Tehran on February 28, resulting in the demise of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as disclosed by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) on Friday.
The IDF stated, "Around 50 Air Force fighter jets, operating with precise guidance from the Intelligence Directorate and in collaboration with the Anti-Terrorism Directorate, targeted Ali Khamenei's underground bunker, strategically situated beneath the leadership complex of the Iranian terrorist regime in central Tehran."
"This underground facility, designed as a secure emergency asset for the leader to orchestrate military operations, was destroyed before its intended use in Operation 'Roar of the Harrier.' Despite Khamenei's assassination, the complex remains operational for high-ranking Iranian officials," the IDF added.
According to the IDF, the Iranian regime had dedicated years to developing this underground structure with the objective of advancing its military agendas.
"The bunker extended across multiple streets in the heart of Tehran, featuring numerous access points and meeting areas for senior members of the Iranian terrorist regime. The attack followed an extensive intelligence-gathering effort conducted by the Military Intelligence Service," the IDF elaborated.
"This leadership compound was the primary and most crucial headquarters for the Iranian terrorist regime. The destruction of the underground bunker significantly undermines the command and control capabilities of the Iranian terrorist regime," it further stated.
Earlier in the week, the IDF announced that it had successfully struck the Iranian regime’s Leadership Compound, effectively dismantling the central headquarters.
"This command headquarters was among the most fortified assets in Iran. Utilizing precise intelligence, the IAF targeted the compound housing the regime’s senior officials overnight. The masterminds behind this terror regime, along with their headquarters, have been eradicated," the IDF posted on X on March 3.
