Quetta, Oct 9 (NationPress) Prominent Baloch human rights advocate Mir Yar Baloch on Thursday characterized the strengthening relationship between Afghanistan and India as a significant and constructive initiative aimed at fostering enduring peace and development throughout the region.
He remarked that this collaboration will also aid in implementing effective strategies to combat extremism and cross-border terrorism emanating from the “rogue state” of Pakistan.
“The 8-day formal visit by the Taliban's FM Maulavi Amir Khan Muttaqi will facilitate a mutual understanding of shared issues and challenges, paving the way for policy formulation to address them. Historically, prior to the establishment of Pakistan, trade routes from Afghanistan traversed the Bolan region into India. This underscores the historical significance of Balochistan as a trustworthy ally and strategically crucial conduit between Afghanistan and India,” Mir shared on X.
“To support Afghan traders, the ports of Gwadar and Chabahar in Balochistan can function as essential gateways for the transit of Afghan goods to Central Asia and Europe. Such collaboration would elevate India’s regional involvement and bring tangible benefits to the lives of ordinary citizens,” he continued.
Referring to India, Balochistan, and Afghanistan as historical neighbors, Mir underlined that the greater the distance among them, the more empowered their adversaries become.
“Our communities are interconnected through profound human, religious, and cultural ties, which is why the people of Balochistan, Afghanistan, and India collectively hope that their governments will eliminate all obstacles and provide mutual support across all international platforms. By doing so, we can hinder Pakistan and its supported militants from propagating violence and chaos. We will also assist one another in overcoming international sanctions and economic coercion,” he asserted.
The human rights advocate expressed optimism that, in the forthcoming phase of these developing relations, both Delhi and Kabul will contemplate initiating diplomatic and economic interactions with the representatives of Balochistan and the pro-independence leader Hyrbyair Marri.
