New Delhi, Oct 29 (NationPress) India and China conducted the 23rd round of Corps Commander Level Meeting at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point, where both nations emphasized that peace and tranquility have been preserved in the Indo-China border regions, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday.
“This meeting marked the first engagement of the General Level Mechanism in the Western Sector since the 24th round of Special Representatives Talks took place on August 19, 2025. The discussions transpired in a friendly and cordial environment,” stated the MEA.
Both parties acknowledged the advancements made since the 22nd round of Corps Commander Level Meeting in October 2024, agreeing to persist in utilizing existing frameworks to address any border-related issues for the sake of stability.
As per the Chinese Ministry of National Defence, on October 25, at the Moldo-Chushul border point from the Indian side, the armed forces of both nations engaged in active and thorough communication regarding the management of the western section of the China-India border.
“They consented to continue dialogue and interaction through military and diplomatic avenues, guided by the significant consensus established by the leaders of both countries, to jointly uphold peace and tranquility in the China-India border regions,” read a statement from the Chinese Ministry.
Previously, on August 31, during a meeting in China’s Tianjin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping reflected on the practical approach both nations have adopted by prioritizing dialogue, confidence-building measures, and regional engagement.
This meeting was aimed at fortifying bilateral relations and capitalizing on recent advancements in India-China interactions.
“The two leaders expressed satisfaction regarding the successful disengagement achieved last year and the ongoing peace and tranquility along the border since then. They reiterated their commitment to a fair, reasonable, and mutually agreeable resolution of the boundary issue, considering the political aspect of their overall bilateral relations and the long-term benefits for both peoples.
“They acknowledged the significant decisions made by the two Special Representatives in their talks earlier this month and agreed to extend their support for these efforts,” the MEA stated after the leaders' meeting.
