New York, Feb 27 (NationPress) India has strongly criticized Pakistan during the seventh session of the 58th UN Human Rights Council, describing it as a failed state relying on international assistance.

Kshitij Tyagi, representing the Permanent Mission of India to the UN in Geneva, stated that it is not surprising that the leaders of Pakistan continue to propagate untruths stemming from their military-terrorist nexus.

Reaffirming India's position, Tyagi highlighted that Jammu and Kashmir, along with Ladakh, will forever remain an essential part of India, citing the advancements made in these regions.

"The Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral and inalienable to India. The remarkable political, social, and economic advancements in J&K over recent years are self-evident. These achievements reflect the people's confidence in the government's commitment to restore normalcy in a region marred by decades of terrorism sponsored by Pakistan," he further stated.

"It is unfortunate to witness Pakistani leaders and representatives persistently disseminating falsehoods propagated by its military-terrorist complex. Pakistan is undermining the OIC by misusing it as a platform for its agenda. It is regrettable that this Council's precious time is squandered by a failed state that thrives on turmoil and is sustained by international aid," Tyagi remarked.

He urged Pakistan to move beyond its unhealthy fixation on India and confront the challenges affecting its own populace.

"India is committed to democracy, progress, and ensuring the dignity of its citizens—values that Pakistan would benefit from adopting," he added.

Tyagi's remarks followed a statement from India's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, who on February 19 reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir is and will always be an integral part of India, while vehemently condemning Pakistan's misinformation tactics.

During India's address at the UN Security Council’s Open Debate on Practicing Multilateralism and Reforming Global Governance, Harish stated, "The Deputy PM and Foreign Minister of Pakistan have referred to an integral and inalienable part of India, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in his remarks. I wish to reaffirm that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been, is, and always will be an integral and inalienable part of India."
