New Delhi, Oct 17 (NationPress) Celebrating the strong relationship between India and Germany, German Ambassador to India, Philipp Ackermann, stated on Friday that the two countries are collaborating closely to enhance their bilateral ties.

In an interview with IANS during the NDTV World Summit, Ackermann remarked, "Regarding the Indo-German relations, they are exceptionally developed; however, there exists a significant potential which we are striving to cultivate together with the governments in Delhi and Berlin to elevate this partnership even further."

Ackermann also voiced Germany's support for India's vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, calling it a "commendable vision" of the Indian government.

"It is an ambitious objective that deserves utmost respect, and we, as Germany, are committed to assisting India in achieving this aim. It’s a remarkable vision from the government, and we are eager to support it in any way possible," he added.

The Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative aspires to transform India into a developed nation by the 100th anniversary of its independence in 2047.

The German envoy spoke with IANS following his participation in the ongoing NDTV World Summit in New Delhi. "It has been a fantastic and engaging summit. I am delighted to be here and truly honored to receive the invitation. We had an excellent session, and I believe this is one of the pivotal events in the Delhi media landscape, so I am very pleased to attend."

Earlier in September, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, expressing appreciation for India's initiative to call for an end to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Wadephul acknowledged that India and Germany have been taking steps to deepen their strategic partnership in various areas, particularly in security, defense, economy, trade, and skilled labor.

"Had fruitful discussions with Narendra Modi today. Our nations have made significant strides in broadening our strategic partnership across various domains, especially in security, defense, economy, trade, and skilled labor. We also greatly value India’s call for a ceasefire in Ukraine," Wadephul shared on X after the meeting.

Wadephul also met with External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar in New Delhi. During their talks, the two leaders emphasized the importance of enhancing industry connections, talent mobility, digital technologies, semiconductors, and critical technologies.

"We engaged in comprehensive discussions on our bilateral agenda as we gear up for the next round of Inter-Governmental Consultations scheduled to take place in India. We explored avenues for greater collaboration in establishing industry linkages, talent mobility, digital sectors, semiconductors, and critical technologies. I appreciate Germany’s strong advocacy for closer India-EU relations and the proactive push to conclude the FTA. We also exchanged views on our multilateral cooperation and global issues, including the Ukraine conflict, the situation in the Middle East and West Asia, and the Indo-Pacific," EAM Jaishankar noted on X.
