New Delhi, Sep 10 (NationPress) Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri engaged with UAE's Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy in New Delhi this Wednesday, where they evaluated the broad dimensions of the multi-faceted India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This included discussions on political, trade and investment, energy, defense and security, education, consularculture, and people-to-people connections.
During their meeting, Misri and Al Hashimy reviewed the various ongoing initiatives across multiple sectors of bilateral cooperation and discussed the implementation of key decisions made during high-level meetings and exchanges, as per a press release from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). They also shared perspectives on global and regional issues of mutual interest.
The MEA highlighted, 'India and the UAE enjoy historically close and friendly relations, supported by robust people-to-people ties. A dynamic Indian diaspora of over 4.3 million resides in the UAE. Bilateral trade between India and the UAE reached USD 100.05 billion for FY 2024-25. The consistent exchange of high-level visits between both sides strengthens their bilateral relationship and opens doors for further collaboration in all areas.'
Al Hashimy's visit followed Foreign Secretary Misri's recent trip to the UAE on June 10, where he met with Al Hashimy and UAE's Minister of Tolerance and Co-existence Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.
Earlier in July, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE's President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reinforced their commitment to enhancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during a phone conversation, as noted by the MEA.
