The Embassy has discontinued the contact desk that was previously established for registering new evacuees. Concurrently, the Government of India is closely monitoring the situation and will reassess its approach should any threats to the safety of Indian nationals in Iran arise.
Indians currently in other regions of Iran who were planning to travel to Mashhad for evacuation are advised to stay where they are and remain updated on the latest news and guidance from the Embassy.
Indians who have already traveled to Mashhad recently and are residing in hotels organized by the Embassy are requested to move to Sadr Hotel today. The Embassy will relinquish the rooms in other hotels but will retain Sadr Hotel accommodations for an additional two nights, allowing citizens time to ensure that the security situation in Iran is stabilizing.
Furthermore, the Embassy emphasized that if Indian citizens require any form of assistance or have specific needs, they should reach out through the previously provided telegram channel or helplines, which will remain available over the next few days.
Prioritizing the safety of its nationals abroad, India initiated Operation Sindhu to evacuate Indian citizens from Iran as the conflict between Iran and Israel escalated.

On Tuesday, Indian nationals evacuated from Iran via a special flight arrived in New Delhi from Mashhad.
Later, Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita warmly welcomed 281 Indians, alongside three Sri Lankans and two Nepalese nationals, who were evacuated from Iran. They arrived in New Delhi on a special flight from Mashhad on Tuesday afternoon, bringing the total number of individuals repatriated from Iran under Operation Sindhu to 2,576.
Additionally, India commenced the Israel portion of Operation Sindhu on June 23, successfully returning multiple groups of Indian nationals. To date, 594 Indians have been brought back from Israel as part of this operation.
