Copenhagen, May 31 (NationPress) BJP MP Gulam Ali Khatana reported that the Indian delegates currently visiting Denmark participated in significant discussions with Danish leaders, articulating India's firm position on terrorism and the necessity for a united effort in tackling this global threat.
Khatana, who serves as the spokesperson for the BJP's Jammu and Kashmir unit, is part of a delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad. The leaders have articulated India's perspective in France and Italy, and are now in Denmark to reinforce India's steadfast commitment against terrorism and its perpetrators.
“I am privileged to be a member of the All Party Delegation of MPs, led by Ravi Shankar Prasad, during our official visit to Denmark. We met with Lars-Christian Brask, the Deputy Speaker of the Danish Parliament, and informed him about the atrocious Pahalgam Terrorist Attack and India’s decisive reaction through Operation Sindoor. We strongly emphasized India's unwavering stance against terrorism and the urgent need for a global coalition to combat it,” Khatana shared on X on Saturday.
The delegation also engaged with a group of former officials, ministers, parliament members, and diplomats who hold a significant influence in Denmark and beyond.
“We had informative discussions with selected former parliament members, former ministers, and a former diplomat, concentrating on the serious challenges that cross-border terrorism poses to India, India's robust response through Operation Sindoor, and broader global issues that endanger peace and security,” Khatana mentioned in another post.
This nine-member delegation represents a broad spectrum of political views: Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP), Daggubati Purandeswari (BJP), Priyanka Chaturvedi (Shiv Sena-UBT), Ghulam Ali Khatana (BJP), Amar Singh (Congress), Samik Bhattacharya (BJP), M. Thambidurai (AIADMK), former Union Minister M.J. Akbar, and former Ambassador Pankaj Saran.
“India's strong condemnation of the terror attack in Pahalgam and the decisive actions taken through Operation Sindoor were central to our briefings provided to the Danish side. It clarified that India’s justified response through ‘Operation Sindoor’ was diplomatically balanced and proportional,” a statement from the Indian Embassy in Copenhagen noted.
“The delegation reiterated India's zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and its stance that any act of violence would be met with appropriate responses. We expressed India's gratitude towards Denmark's public condemnation of the Pahalgam terrorist attack and their solidarity with India during our meetings,” the statement further added.
Moreover, the delegation also interacted with the local Indian diaspora, stressing the success of Operation Sindoor and India's commitment to standing firm in our collective fight against terrorism.
The delegates are part of India’s global diplomatic initiative to underscore the importance of Operation Sindoor and India’s ongoing struggle against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism.
