Chandigarh, Oct 27 (NationPress) Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij expressed his thoughts on the recent incident where 50 youths from Haryana were deported from the US in shackles. He stated that those who traveled to America via the “donkey route” did so through unauthorized methods. Nevertheless, Vij emphasized, “If individuals are being deported, the process must be conducted humanely. Regardless of their means of entry, they are human beings with human rights.”
He further mentioned that the government has developed a policy to take stringent action against the agents involved in facilitating illegal emigration, highlighting the administration's aim to provide justice for these youths and to avert such occurrences in the future.
A total of 54 Indian nationals, including the 50 from Haryana, were deported from the US for allegedly entering the country unlawfully. The deportees returned to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Flight OAE-4767 on Saturday night, as reported by officials.
In light of the deportation, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar acknowledged awareness of the situation. He reiterated, “I have consistently stated that this route is not safe for our youth. We want them to seek education, acquire skills, and travel legally. The government assists in obtaining passports and visas for legitimate travel.”
Regarding the ongoing protests related to SIR, Minister Vij commented, “If the Election Commission is rectifying its records, that is a positive step. If some individuals are registered in locations where they shouldn’t be, the Commission’s actions are a commendable exercise of democracy.”
In response to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s claim that he would “discard the Waqf Bill” if elected, Vij remarked, “Tejashwi Yadav appears to be unaware of his own position. No state Assembly can nullify a law passed by the Parliament. Suggesting that a law passed by the Parliament will be disregarded is an affront to the Parliament.”
Addressing Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad’s call for a Muslim Chief Minister in Bihar, Vij stated, “Anyone can make demands, but only the individual who garners the majority of public support can become Chief Minister.”
Renowned for his accurate political forecasts during Haryana elections, veteran politician Vij also predicted, “The NDA will secure a significant victory in the Bihar elections, leading to the formation of the NDA government.”
