Chandigarh, Oct 29 (NationPress) Former Haryana Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, stated on Wednesday that thousands of families are facing financial devastation due to rising unemployment rates.
“Illegal immigrants are being expelled from the US in a humiliating manner, with a significant number being young individuals from Haryana. It is deeply unfortunate that these youths are being returned to Haryana like prisoners,” he remarked.
“These young individuals left for the US due to a lack of job opportunities. Many even sold their properties and homes to fund their migration. Each person invested between Rs 50 to Rs 60 lakh to reach the US, but now they find themselves abruptly sent back,” he continued. Consequently, Hooda indicated that countless families are now in dire financial straits, laden with debt.
“The BJP government, which has been in power for 11 years, is directly accountable for this situation, having utterly failed to generate employment for Haryana's youth,” he asserted in a statement. Hooda emphasized that various reports and government data indicate that Haryana remains the top state in the nation for both unemployment and crime rates. Consequently, there are no investors willing to invest in Haryana,” he added.
“The absence of new investments is hindering job creation, leading to a continuous rise in unemployment and forcing the youth to migrate from their own state.”
The Congress leader pointed out that the BJP government itself is contemplating sending its youth abroad, highlighting an unfortunate scenario for the state.
“Today, Haryana's youth are traveling to America, choosing perilous ‘dunki’ routes, migrating to conflict-ridden Israel, and being drafted to fight alongside Russia in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This indicates that BJP-created unemployment has now spread beyond Haryana,” he said.
Hooda concluded by stating that this predicament is not just leading to an economic crisis but is also fracturing the social fabric, resulting in families being torn apart and youth turning towards depression and crime.
